Finally It's............ [12 Sep 2006|12:10pm]

Cast your minds back to April of this year, and you may recall that this happened.

Five months, and a lot of last minute ticket searching panic later, The Subways finally made it on to the stage of The Bristol Carling Academy, to play the set they had originally hoped to play back in April, but had to at the last minute postpone, due to lead singer Billy suffering from nodules on his vocal chords.

More behind the cutCollapse )

-The Subways finally played Bristol's Carling Academy on Sunday 10th September

[ mood | curious ]

this is kind of a ridiculous question, but i've yet to see the subways live and was curious which version of 'i want to hear what you have to say' they usually sing at the gigs nowadays- album, or old transgressive lyrics?

Just read this update about Billy on myspace:

hi everyone

after visiting a few specialists, Billy has been diagnosed with nodules on his vocal chords, and has been advised to take at least 6 weeks complete rest from touring, which will include the American tour. we're all really disappointed by this, as we had been looking forward to the coming dates. we're going to use the time as positvely as we can, working on new songs intrumentally. we'll keep you updated on how Billy's doing. we can't wait to get back to America later this summer and contiune with European festival dates.

thank you for all your support and for being patient with us

love charlotte xxx

Poor Billy :( Nodules do not sound fun. Hope he's better in time for the summer to belt out those tunes...

The Subways NOT Live @ Bristol Academy [10 Apr 2006|07:57pm]

One of the best live shows i've never been to.

Good news though. It's been rescheduled for the 24 May.

The bad news is I'll be stuck in the middle of Auckland, New Zealand of all places, at the time!

[29 Mar 2006|07:52pm]

Hello everyone. I do believe this is the first time I am posting here.

I went to the Subways on Monday night in the beautiful city of San Francisco. Tickets were only 4 dollars because they did the show in conjunction with the local radio station.

I was the first in line.

Held the door open for Billy. He said "God bless you, thank you." In a really cute way. Then later got my record signed by him.

The show was amazing. Was right front and center. The crowd went mad. Espesh during the Rock N Roll Queen which they played last as part of the encore. This one guy got onstage and didn't get off for about 2 minutes. Then about 5 other people managed to get onstage and stage dive into the crowd. It was sorta ridic.

Got a setlist and it read exactly like this:

With You
Young for E.T
City Pavement
I Wanna Hear...
Lines of Light
Oh Yeah
At 1AM
She SOn
A Plain Above

R n R Queen

Have to say that they sound much better live than on record. They sound dead on record and live... they dont. They opening act The Shys was also very good too.
